Indian Film: DARR (FEAR)

Hello it's Bilal again, today I will do a blog about another romantic but also a psychological thriller film which is called DARR in English translation it means (FEAR).This film is considered to be a 90's cult classic and also an all time blockbuster. Here is an image and a popular song from the film.

I will now tell you what this film is about in a short summary. This romantic thriller saga film is about KIRAN AWASTHI, a beautiful college student returns home to her brother VIJAY and his wife POONAM. She is being obsessively stalked along the way by RAHUL MEHRA , her classmate who is in love with her. KIRAN's boyfriend SUNIL MALHOTRA is a navy officer. His captain AVINASH MEHRA is RAHUL's father.

RAHUL tries to be friendly with SUNIL, to be closer to KIRAN. When she reaches home, RAHUL continually calls her and tells her to stay away from SUNIL but while scared, she refuses to allow a stalker to order her around. He visits her both on her birthday and on Holi, terrifying her and her family. VIJAY and POONAM get KIRAN and SUNIL engaged, believing that the stalker would never trouble KIRAN again.

Upon knowing this, an enraged RAHUL tries to kill SUNIL but fails. SUNIL meets with an accident when chasing the stalker who he doesn't know is RAHUL and is hospitalized. KIRAN, who now fears for her lover's safety, decides to leave the city so her stalker will not hurt him anymore but is caught by SUNIL, who marries her that night itself. RAHUL is absolutely furious at this and swears to claim KIRAN for himself. He trashes the couple's new house by writing "Shaadi mubharakh KIRAN"(Congrats on your marriage, KIRAN) and "Tum meri ho KIRAN"(You are mine, KIRAN) and kills the police officers sent to protect the couple.

KIRAN is horrified by this and fears that she might go insane. To distract her and calm her, SUNIL takes KIRAN on a honeymoon to Switzerland while booking extra tickets to Goa so the stalker misunderstands that the couple is in Goa and goes there instead. RAHUL falls for the trick and searches all over Goa but to no avail. Instead, he finds his college friend VIKRAM "VICKY" OBEROI who is suffering from a disease. RAHUL then tries to befriend KIRAN's brother and sister-in-law by visiting them daily to try and find out about KIRAN's location.

RAHUL gets a call from VICKY asking him to come to see him. When he does, he finds him on his deathbed, asking RAHUL to kill him as he cannot take the pain anymore. He hesitates a bit but then kills his friend and makes it look like he was the stalker. KIRAN's family assumes that the stalker killed himself after not being able to track KIRAN down and relax. They slip out her actual location to RAHUL and he turns up at her hotel.

KIRAN and SUNIL recognize and welcome him to be part of their festivities. SUNIL then finds out RAHUL was KIRAN's stalker all along. He sends her away on a boat and confronts and has a fight with RAHUL who begs for mercy. SUNIL hesitates, and RAHUL stabs SUNIL brutally and leaves him to die. RAHUL reaches the boat and forces KIRAN to marry him and tells her that SUNIL is dead. He gives her his mother's old saree and tells her to wear it, ignoring her begs and pleas.

KIRAN locks herself in a room in the boat and when the door is broken down and she is pulled back out, it is revealed that SUNIL didn't actually die and comes back to save KIRAN. He and RAHUL get into a fight and RAHUL is shot by SUNIL. As he is dying, he pleads with KIRAN to not hate him. KIRAN and SUNIL return to India and reunite with their family. 

In my opinion I love this movie, I love the action, the songs, and the stuttering dialogue which the obsessed guy say's throughout the film which is "I LOVE YOU K-K-K KIRAN", this dialogue has won the hearts of every people in the world even mine, I suggest you should watch it to it's really good.

English Film: THE MASK OF ZORRO.

Hello it's Bilal again, today I will do a blog about a English SuperHero film which is called THE MASK OF ZORRO, this film is mainly about the SuperHero named ZORRO. This film has earned a swashbuckling blockbuster status, it is considered to be one of the 90's classic and one of the best SuperHero movies ever. Here is an image and a trailer of the movie.

I will now tell you what this film is about in a short summary. This action-packed blockbuster movie is set in 1960's Spain, it's about a SuperHero called ZORRO who helps poor people, gives them their rights and fights of soldiers who work for a evil rich man. ZORRO is played by a man named DIEGO (ANTHONY HOPKINS) for now. One day when DIEGO is at home with his wife and a beautiful baby girl that evil rich man comes unexpectedly with his soldiers and arrests DIEGO because only he knows he is ZORRO he finds out by looking at a injury which is on DIEGO's left arm, and it is the same injury that ZORRO had while fighting of the soldiers, when DIEGO and the evil rich man have a sword fight his wife accidently dies in the process and he is captured and taken to jail, the evil rich man takes DIEGO's daughter away from him and he makes her his daughter and set's DIEGO's house on fire therefore destroying DIEGO's life and DIEGO swears revenge on the evil rich man. 20 years later DIEGO escapes somehow and try's to find the evil rich man but when he does he discovers that he has more soldiers than he had before and has gained a lot of power and plus since his daughter ELENA (CATHERINE-ZETA JONES) is with that evil guy he will have to wait for a while. While he waits he decides that he is too old to carry on the life of ZORRO so he decides to let someone else carry out on his mantle. One day he finds a Spanish bandit named ALEJANDRO(ANTONIO BANDERAS)who only steals and fights for his stomach he does not do it for bad deeds therefore he is a good guy. ALEJANDRO is in an emotional state because his brother died who was killed by one of the evil rich man's soldiers when they were running away. DIEGO see's a lot of pain, revenge and a lot of anger in him so he tells him that he will show him how to avenge his brother by training him giving him all of the things that DIEGO used to use when he was ZORRO and shows him how to fight for justice. When ALEJANDRO completes his training DIEGO says to him that he is ready to carry out his mantle as ZORRO, ZORRO basically wears a black suit with a Cape, a little black mask, with black shoes,with a black hat, with his black horse who is named TORNADO and with martial arts skills with a sword and a whip he fights of bad guys. In my opinion I love this movie, I love every scenes in here especially the training scenes they are one of the best scenes in this movie. I suggest you should watch it as well it's really good.

Indian Film: KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI (KKHH)

Hello it's Bilal again, today I will do a blog about another romantic Indian movie which has the same couple who starred in the movie DDLJ, I am telling you every time they do a romantic film together they make the audience very happy. The film is called KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI it is sometimes referred as (KKHH) and in English translation it means (SOMETHING SOMETHING HAPPENS). This is considered to be another all time romantic blockbuster films ever, here is an image and jukebox of all of the songs in the movie.


I will tell you what this film is about in a short summary. This romantic musical saga is about RAHUL KHANNA  and ANJALI SHARMA are best friends in college. They frequently spend time together and play basketball. ANJALI is much better at the game than RAHUL, who wins occasionally by cheating. Their friendship is tested by the arrival of TINA MALHOTRA, the attractive daughter of the college principal, from London. RAHUL is immediately smitten and starts hazing her as a means to grab attention. The two grow attracted to each other, leading ANJALI to feel jealous and lonely. She realizes she is in love with RAHUL and cannot stand seeing him get closer to TINA. She leaves colleges, leaves town, saying bye to RAHUL and TINA.

8 Years Later, RAHUL is a single parent to an eight-year-old daughter, also named ANJALI. TINA, whom he married after college, died while giving birth to their daughter but not before writing eight letters for her to read on her subsequent birthdays. The last of these letters introduces ANJALI to RAHUL's college friend by the same name. In the letter, TINA asks her daughter ANJALI to reunite RAHUL with ANJALI SHARMA, having always been aware of her feelings for RAHUL.

At a camp for children in Shimla, ANJALI is a facilitator who teaches music and dance. ANJALI KHANNA enrolls and meets her namesake for the first time. Soon, she tricks her father into visiting the camp, reuniting him with ANJALI after many years. Using her mother's descriptions of their college days in the letter, Anjali KHANNA recreates familiar situations that enable RAHUL and ANJALI to rekindle their friendship. They eventually find love again with each other, but this time, are interrupted by the arrival of ANJALI's fiancé, AMAN. Finally snapping back to reality, ANJALI leaves the camp midway to return home and marry AMAN.

On the day of the wedding, ANJALI KHANNA lets AMAN know of her mother's letter and her quest to unite her father with ANJALI. Meanwhile, RAHUL stumbles into ANJALI at an upstairs balcony and finally expresses his love for her. At the wedding hall downstairs, AMAN and the guests are awaiting ANJALI to make her way to the wedding alter for the final ritual. ANJALI walks down the stairs but stops after seeing RAHUL. AMAN, realizing ANJALI will always be in love with RAHUL, calls off the wedding. He asks RAHUL to marry ANJALI in his stead, joining in the celebration. RAHUL and ANJALI are finally united, and ANJALI KHANNA is beset with emotion at having fulfilled her mother's last request, this film gives an Important message that "LOVE IS FRIENDSHIP". 

In my opinion I love this movie, I like the couple who acted in here, I like the music, comedy and drama in this film I just like everything in here, I suggest you should watch it also you will also love this one like the other romantic movies I have talked about.

 

English Film: THE NUTTY PROFESSOR

Hello it's Bilal again, today I will do a blog about a comedy English movie which has various of funny scenes and it is delightfully very good. The movie is called THE NUTTY PROFESSOR where Eddie Murphy one of my best Hollywood comedians ever who stars in this film and plays 6 other roles in this film. Here is one image, and one of the funny scenes in the movie.

I will tell you what this film is about in a short summary. It's about an over-weight but a shy, soft hearted, kind and intelligent professor, he has a hard time at asking girls out since he is over-weight. Then one day he meets his colleague and a different teacher who is a fan of his work and falls for her. When he asks her out she accepts because she is very different to the other girls he asked out but when they are at their date a comedian in the club that they are at makes fun of him then after that incident he decides to lose weight, he try's everything to lose weight by exercising and being healthy

but still it fails. Then one day he invents a potion which will make an over-weight person to a very thin person, he try's it and it works, then he is incredibly thin, he keeps getting more and more fit and getting more girls but the potion lasts for about 24 hours a day so then after that he will go back to his normal self. The other day he asks his colleague again on a date but in his thinner version after drinking the potion again, since he his so thin she does not recognize him so he comes up with a fake name. When they go on a date again they go back to the same club where he was insulted so to get even with the comedian he makes up jokes and insults and hits the comedian in a different kind of style, but there is one problem the more potion he has in one day there will be a chance that his life can be in danger. In my opinion it's one of the best English comedy movies I have ever seen, I love every funny scenes and the actors who act in this film, I suggest you should watch it to, you will love it and laugh a lot as well it's very good.

Indian Film: MOHABBATEIN (LOVE STORIES)

Hello it's Bilal again I will now talk to you about another romantic indian movie this movie has also won the hearts of people like the other Indian movie DDLJ and it is one of the 2000's classic. The Movie is called MOHABBATEIN, in English translation it means (LOVE STORIES). Here is an image and a jukebox of all of the songs in the Movie.

I will tell you what this movie is about in a short summary. This musical saga is about NARAYAN SHANKAR has been the strict principal of Gurukul, a prestigious all-boys college, for 25 years. NARAYAN believes in bringing the best out of his students by emphasizing honour, tradition, and discipline. He disdains fun and is particularly intolerant of romance and threatens to expel any student who is caught having a romantic affair. Despite these rules, three Gurukul students SAMEER, VICKY, and KARAN fall in love. SAMEER falls for SANJANA, his childhood friend; VICKY falls for ISHIKA, a student at the neighbouring all girls college; and KARAN is falls for KIRAN, a young widow whom KARAN sees alone one night in a train station. NARAYAN SHANKAR hires RAJ ARYAN MALHORA as Gurukul's new music teacher. RAJ believes in the power of love and decides to spread love throughout Gurukul. He sympathizes with the predicaments of SAMEER, VICKY, and KARAN, and encourages them to persist and stay loyal to their loves. RAJ tells the three students he had a special love himself MEGHA and that although she is dead, he imagines she accompanies him every day. One day, as part of his plan, RAJ throws a party, to which he invites the students of the all girls college. Narayan discovers the party and threatens to dismiss RAJ. At this point, RAJ reveals he had been a student at Gurukul over a decade earlier and that he had fallen in love with MEGHA, NARAYAN SHANKAR's only daughter. NARAYAN SHANKAR had summarily expelled RAJ from the college and the distraught MEGHA had committed suicide. RAJ returns to Gurukul to honour MEGHA's memory by reversing the college's zero tolerance policy on romance; he promises he will fill the school with love and that NARAYAN SHANKAR will be unable to stop it. NARAYAN SHANKAR is shocked; he takes this as a challenge and allows RAJ to remain. SAMEER, VICKY, and KARAN are able to win over SANJANA, ISHIKA, and KIRAN, respectively, but NARAYAN SHANKAR retaliates by tightening the college's rules. The student body, however, encouraged by RAJ, continues to defy the rules and in a final effort to preserve the school atmosphere he has built up for 25 years, NARAYAN SHANKAR expels the three students. RAJ speaks up on their behalf, stating they did nothing wrong by falling in love and accusing NARAYAN SHANKAR of causing his own daughter's death with his intolerance of love. RAJ also says he feels NARAYAN SHANKAR lost the challenge because his daughter left him and now RAJ, who considered NARAYAN SHANKAR an elder, is leaving him as well. RAJ's words hurt NARAYAN SHANKAR, who realizes his strict no-romance policy is misguided. NARAYAN SHANKAR apologizes to the students cancels SAMEER, VICKY KARAN'S rustication, resigns as principal of Gurukul, and nominates RAJ as his successor. RAJ accepts and reconciles and hugs NARAYAN SHANKAR. 

This movie has also won my heart to and in my opinion I love the story, the music and all the actors who act in this film I suggest you should watch it to you will love it also.

English Film: THE PRINCESS BRIDE

I will tell you what this film is about in a short summary. 

The film begins with a grandfather visiting his sick grandson. He decides to read him his favourite book called THE PRINCESS BRIDE. The book is about true love, but it shows fencing, fighting, revenge, torture, giants, monsters chases/escapes and miracles. I watched this movie and in my opinion  I loved it when I watched the fencing parts basically meaning sword fighting, those parts were actually one of the best parts in the Movie I suggest you should watch it aswell it's really good.

Indian Film: DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE (DDLJ)

Hello it's Bilal again, today I will do a blog about a romantic Indian movie, this movie has won the hearts of every people in the world, it is considered to be one of the 90's CLASSIC and one of the biggest blockbuster films ever made.


The movie is called DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE, it is sometimes referred as (DDLJ) and in English translation it means (THE-BIG HEARTED WILL TAKE THE BRIDE AWAY). Here is a image and a jukebox basically all the songs from the movie.

I will tell you what this movie is about in a short summary. This romantic musical saga is about RAJ MALHOTRA and SIMRAN SINGH are both non-resident Indians (NRI) living in London. SIMRAN is brought up in a strict and conservative household by her parents BALDEV SINGH and LaJJO while RAJ is raised by his liberal father DHARAMVIR MALHOTRA. SIMRAN always dreams of meeting her ideal man; her mother LAJJO warns her against this, saying dreams are good, but one should not blindly believe they come true. One day, BALDEV receives a letter from his friend AJIT, who lives in Punjab, India. AJIT wants to keep the promise he and BALDEV made to each other 20 years ago — to have SIMRAN marry his son KULJEET. SIMRAN is disappointed, as she does not want to marry someone whom she has never met.

One evening, RAJ enters BALDEV's shop after closing time to buy beer. BALDEV refuses, but RAJ grabs a case of beer, throws money on the counter, and runs away. An infuriated BALDEV calls RAJ a disgrace to India. Meanwhile, DHARAMVIR agrees to his request to go on a train trip across Europe with his friends, and SIMRAN's friends have invited her to go on the same trip. SIMRAN asks BALDEV to let her see the world before her marriage, and he reluctantly agrees.

On the trip, RAJ and SIMRAN meet. RAJ constantly flirts with SIMRAN, much to her irritation. The two miss their train to Zurich and are separated from their friends, but start to travel together and become friends. RAJ falls in love with SIMRAN on the journey, and when they part ways in London, SIMRAN realises she is in love with him as well. At home, SIMRAN tells her mother about the boy she met on her trip; BALDEV overhears the conversation and becomes enraged with his daughter. He says the family will move to India the next day. Meanwhile, RAJ tells DHARAMVIR about SIMRAN and that she will soon get married. When RAJ says he believes SIMRAN loves him too, DHARAMVIR encourages him to go after her. RAJ goes to her house to woo her and BALDEV, but is informed by their neighbour that they have sold their house and moved to India.

Back in India, BALDEV is reunited with his relatives and his friend, AJIT. A miserable SIMRAN and her younger sister CHUTKI take an instant dislike to SIMRAN's fiancé KULJEET because of his arrogance. SIMRAN pines for RAJ, but her mother tells her to forget him because she knows BALDEV will never accept their relationship. The next morning, RAJ arrives outside of the house where SIMRAN is staying and the two reunite. She begs him to elope with her, but RAJ refuses and says he will only marry her with BALDEV's consent. Without disclosing his acquaintance with SIMRAN, RAJ befriends KULJEET, and is quickly accepted by both families. Later, DHRAMVIR also arrives in India and becomes friends with SIMRAN's and KULJEET's families. Eventually, LAJJO and CHUTKI discover that RAJ is the boy SIMRAN fell in love with in Europe. LAJJO also tells RAJ and SIMRAN to run away, but he still refuses. BALDEV recognises RAJ from the beer incident but eventually accepts him. However, after he discovers a photograph of RAJ and SIMRAN together in Europe, he slaps and humiliates RAJ and tells him to leave.

As RAJ and DHARAMVIR wait at the railway station, KULJEET, who is angry to learn of RAJ's love for SIMRAN, arrives with his friends and attack them but RAJ overpowers them and brutally beats all the goons and KULJEET. Eventually, BALDEV and AJIT arrive and stop the fight, and RAJ boards the departing train with DHARAMVIR. SIMRAN then arrives with LAJJO and CHUTKI; she tries to join RAJ on the train, but BALDEV stops her. SIMRAN begs him to let her go, saying she cannot live without RAJ. BALDEV, realising nobody loves his daughter more than RAJ does, lets her go, and she runs and catches the train as it departs and they hug and happily cheer and go back to London. 

In my opinion I love this movie so much it has won my heart to and it is one of the best romantic movies I have ever seen, I suggest you should watch it to, it's so good. 

HOLLYWOOD FILM: FACE/OFF

Hello it's Bilal Choudrey again, the last time I did a blog about a Bollywood movie, this time I will do a blog about a Hollywood movie.


The Hollywood movie I like so much is FACE/OFF. Here is one image and a trailer of it those who have never heard or seen about the movie, it is considered to be one of the 90's CLASSIC.

                                                                                  

I will tell you what this film is about in a short summary like I did with the Bollywood movie. This action packed movie is about a FBI AGENT and a TERRORIST who have a enmity with each other. The terrorist try's to kill the agent but accidently kills the agent's 5 year old son, in a fit of anger and revenge he raises a manhunt on the terrorist but suddenly during the gun fight the terrorist go's into a coma and before even the manhunt the terrorist planted a big time bomb, a computerized one which is due to blow a week later only the terrorist and his little brother knows where the bomb is. The agent has no choice but to switch faces with the terrorist so he can get the secret about the bomb from the terrorist's brother because the terrorist's brother will only talk about the bomb to his elder brother, but then suddenly the terrorist get's out of coma and forces the doctor who placed the terrorist's face on the agent, places the agent's face on him so this way the agent assumes the terrorist's identity and the terrorist assumes the agent's identity this brings on a deadly cat and mouse game, I suggest you should watch it, it is really good.

BOLLYWOOD FILM: SHOLAY (FIRE)

Hello let me introduce myself, my name is Bilal Choudrey. I live in Birmingham with my family, I am a student at South And City College in Hall Green Campus, I study ICT, Math's and English which are my favorite subjects.

In my spare time at home I play badminton with my brother and sisters, I watch DVDS and VIDEOS on my plasma screen TV in my room and go shopping with my family.

This is my first blog and I will write about my all time favourite film which is called SHOLAY, in English translation it means (FIRE) and it is considered to be an all time blockbuster. Here is an image and a trailer of the movie.

I will now tell you what this film is about in a big summary because this film has a long story, I am sorry.

This action-packed film is set in the small village of RAMGARH, the retired policeman THAKUR BALDEV SINGH summons a pair of small-time thieves that he had once arrested. THAKUR feels that the duo—VEERU and JAI would be ideal to help him capture GABBAR SINGH , a bandit wanted by the authorities for a  50,000 reward. THAKUR tells them to surrender GABBAR to him, alive, for an additional  20,000 reward.

The two thieves and friends thwart the bandits sent by GABBAR to extort the villagers. Soon afterwards, GABBAR and his goons attack RAMGARH during the festival of Holi. In a tough battle, VEERU and JAI are cornered. THAKUR, although he has a gun within his reach, does not help them. VEERU and JAI fight back and the bandits flee. The two are, however, upset at THAKUR's inaction, and consider leaving the village. THAKUR explains that GABBAR had killed nearly all of his family members, and cut off both his arms a few years earlier, which is why he could not use the gun. He had concealed the dismemberment by always wearing a shawl (a simple type of clothing).

Living in RAMGARH, the jovial VEERU and cynical JAI find themselves growing fond of the villagers. VEERU is attracted to BASANTI , a feisty, talkative young woman who makes her living by driving a horse-cart. JAI is drawn to RADHA , THAKUR's reclusive, widowed daughter-in-law, who subtly returns his affections.

Skirmishes between GABBAR's gang and JAI-VEERU finally result in the capture of VEERU and BASANTI by the bandits. JAI attacks the gang, and the three are able to flee GABBAR's hideout with bandits in pursuit. Fighting from behind a rock, JAI and VEERU nearly run out of ammunition. VEERU, unaware that JAI was wounded in the gunfight, is forced to leave for more ammunition and to take BASANTI back safely to the village. Meanwhile, JAI, who is continuing the gunfight singlehandedly, decides to sacrifice himself by using his last bullet to ignite dynamite sticks on a bridge from close range.

VEERU returns, and JAI dies in his arms. Enraged, VEERU attacks GABBAR's den and kills all of GABBAR'S men in a very angry and fighting strength and then starts fighting GABBAR. VEERU nearly beats GABBAR to death when THAKUR appears and reminds VEERU of the promise to hand over GABBAR alive. THAKUR uses his spike-soled shoes to severely injure GABBAR and destroy his hands. The police then arrive and arrest GABBAR (In the original ending THAKUR kills GABBAR). After JAI's funeral, RADHA is left alone again, VEERU leaves RAMGARH and finds BASANTI waiting for him on the train and the film ends with THAKUR watching the train departing.


In my opinion I love this film, I just love everything in here such as the story, the songs/music, the dialogue's, the action, the comedy and the actors who acted in this film, I suggest you should watch this film as well it is very good.
